Defold version 1.14.1 has appeared on the engine's GitHub releases page as a pre-release. The tag is 1.14.1-alpha, and the build metadata lists the channel as alpha.
The release was posted by the defold-services account and points to commit 65f2d1f. GitHub shows the commit as created on GitHub.com and signed with its verified signature. The page also notes one commit to the dev branch since this release.
The sources disagree on timing. The build metadata gives a date of 2026-10-14 15:43:26, and the listing was published on 14 October. The release page itself says it was released on 30 Sep at 18:00. The source does not explain the gap.
The page we reviewed contains no release notes, so we cannot say what 1.14.1 adds, fixes or changes. Check the release page for notes before testing.
Because this is an alpha-channel pre-release, expect it to be unstable. Test it on a copy of your project, and keep shipping work on a stable Defold release.
